Arctic chill, anyone? With much of the country experiencing a serious freeze over, we thought an eXO Guide to Winter was long overdue. Ahead, we’re sharing our tips for living well and loving your skin in the coldest months of the year — read on!
DON’T… Freak out and drastically change up your routine! A regimen of eXO Face morning and night is still the name of the game come wintertime, thanks to our moisturizer’s adaptive qualities and antioxidant-rich, nourishing ingredients. That’s to say, while your skin may be drier, thirstier and more sensitive than ever, eXO Face responds to what it needs in real-time, upping the ante ASAP — slather it on!
DO… Avoid harsh exfoliants and drying cleansers, as they’ll exacerbate sensitive winter skin. We personally love a good oil cleanser this time of year, as it helps maintain the skin’s all-important, oh-so-fragile sebum. Along those lines, now is not that time to do that crazy chemical peel or overload on retinol. Keep it simple and gentle so you can put your best eXO Face forward when it’s freezing out!
DON’T… Hop on the “I’m-hibernating-so-I-can-eat-anything-I-want” diet. Listen, we’re all about enjoying carbs, red wine and chocolate. And – trust us – it’s easy to overdo it when a comforting plate of pasta acts like a warm blanket. But we think everything tastes and feels better in moderation, especially during these winter months. So, get your greens in, drink plenty of water and indulge in that cacio e pepe ...on occasion.
DO… Experiment with new recipes! The cold weather makes hibernation inevitable, so why not use that time indoors to test out your skills in the kitchen? Tap into your creative side and try crafting some new recipes; we're all about making stews and soups a seasonal habit, and are dying to make this warming, vitamin-rich Vegetable Paella.
DON’T… Stay cooped up indoors. The cold weather might be intimidating, but there’s nothing as invigorating as a brisk outdoor run come the wintertime. If running isn’t your speed, hit the slopes — ski, snowboard, snowshoe… just get moving!
DO… Remember to take care of your mind, too. There are more than 3 million cases of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) a year, thanks to the diminishing lack of sunshine and frigid temperatures. Curb your wintertime blues by making extra time for self-care practices like meditation, reading and digital detoxing.
