Summertime means plenty of outdoor events, from barbecues and baseball games; weddings to weekend beach trips. But what’s a baseball game without a nice cold beer or a wedding without a champagne toast? Not our cup of (spiked) tea, that’s what!
We’re all about having a good time––in moderation––but indulging too much booze can be a real downer for your gorgeous face. Alcohol is known for its dehydrating properties, plus it can deplete your skin of the essential vitamins and minerals it needs to look healthy and glowing. Worst of all, imbibing can deepen wrinkles on the face––although we have a secret weapon for keeping these and other age lines at bay.
Ahead, we’re sharing our favorite summertime cocktail recipes that will let you keep the fun flowing without wreaking havoc on your complexion.

Green Juice Appletini
Get your vitamins and minerals with a splash of fun with this upgraded appletini, which is loaded in alkalizing lemon, vitamin A-rich apples and nutrient-dense greens. Add in some detoxifying ginger and you’ve got yourself a delicious “adult” green juice.
2 stalks of celery
1 head romaine
1 small piece of ginger
2 green apples
2 oz. vodka
Use a juicer to process the celery, romaine, lemon, ginger and green apples. Pour into a martini shaker with ice and add 2 ounces of vodka. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass.
Pomegranates and cranberries not only pack a tart punch, they also are loaded with skin-friendly polyphenol antioxidants. These polyphenols help the body fight free radicals, which have been thought to contribute to aging. Sounds good to us!
½ cup brandy
¼ cup pomegranate juice
¼ cup cranberry juice
1/3 cup orange juice
1 bottle Cabernet Sauvignon
½ cup triple sec
Seeds of 1 pomegranate
1 cup of cranberries
1 lemon, sliced into thin rounds
1 lime, sliced into thin rounds
In a large pitcher, add brand, pomegranate juice, orange juice, Cabernet Sauvignon, and triple sec. Mix in pomegranate seeds, cranberries, and lemon and lime slices. Add ice until pitcher is full. Enjoy with friends.
Gin ‘n Grapefruit Juice
Gins are made from a variety of ingredients, but one thing they all have in common is juniper. Juniper can help your body regenerate cells––just like human exosomes. Swap out tonic for grapefruit juice, which comes packed with replenishing vitamins A and C, and you’ve got yourself the perfect summer cocktail.
1 grapefruit, juiced
2 oz. gin
Fill a highball glass with ice. Add grapefruit juice, gin and club soda. Stir with a cocktail spoon. Garnish with a wedge of grapefruit.
